Schering-Plough Canada Charitable Contribution Guidelines

Schering-Plough Canada has charitable contribution guidelines to allocate its funds most effectively and for the best interests of the community.

Charitable Contribution definition:

A Charitable Contribution is one of goodwill. The requestor of the charitable contribution is generally a qualified tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization as allowed by law.

Charitable Contribution criteria:

The company's charitable support funds have been allocated to the following areas:
  • Health - As a health care company, Schering-Plough Canada's charitable contributions are particularly focused on support for health care initiatives.
  • Education - As a country operation of Schering-Plough Canada Corporation, a research-based enterprise, Schering-Plough Canada is also interested in supporting initiatives that aim to improve science education.
  • Social and Community Initiatives - The company supports initiatives that address various social and community initiatives.

All requests for donations to foreign countries or entities should be sent to Health Partners International of Canada.

*As per the Canada Elections Act, Schering-Plough Canada does not make political donations to Federal Political Parties. For all other political contributions requests, please direct your correspondence in writing to the Government and Health Affairs, Schering-Plough Canada Inc, 16750, route Transcanadienne, Kirkland QC H9H 4M7 or by fax at (514) 695-8816.

Note:

The Schering-Plough Canada charitable contributions management process requires information about the Board of Directors for any organization that makes a donation request. Specifically, the names and titles of Board members (Directors, officers, trustees and/or founders) and information about whether they, their spouse, or their immediate family are government employees**, as defined below. Schering-Plough Canada will then require information on the government employee's agency and the employee's title and whether they have any role in licensing, approval, pricing, reimbursement and bulk purchases and/or formulary listings of pharmaceutical products.

This information may take some time to gather so we recommend that you first collect it, then come back to the charitable contributions management application for completion.

** "A government employee is any individual who receives any part of his or her compensation (i.e. salary, benefits, vacation) from the government. Government employees are those that work both full-time and part-time for a government agency. Examples of possible roles within the government agency are: licensing, approval, pricing, reimbursement and bulk purchases and formulary listings of pharmaceutical products."

Please submit your request at least one month in advance of the date of the event. Requests reviewed after an event has taken place will automatically be denied.

Requestors must upload an official letter of request in order to complete their application.

Please review Schering-Plough Canada's Privacy Policy before continuing and refer to our FAQ if you have questions.

Please note that by submitting this request (and in the event that such request is approved), you are authorizing SPC to disclose the name of the recipient on SPC's Website as part of SPC's and Rx & D's transparent funding practices with stakeholders.
